With effect from 1 September 2026, the University will implement a new Group Medical Insurance Scheme for eligible HKU staff members and dependants. While the overall change and policy arrangements have been led by the Human Resources Office (HRO), the University Health Service (UHS) is required to implement the necessary adjustments to its services and operational arrangements for eligible HKU staff members and dependants in accordance with the University’s direction.
Since being informed of the implementation requirements, UHS has been working diligently to prepare for the transition within a very short implementation timeframe. Given the scale and complexity of the transition, some details are still pending confirmation or further information from HRO, the insurer, and other relevant parties. UHS will share available information as far as practicable, and this page will be updated progressively as further details are confirmed.
